The Used

Let’s go back to the days when skinny jeans and big fringes were a necessity. Black hair was completely natural and everyone was depressed just so they wouldn’t conform to society. The days when tight purple jeans and matching braces were cool. No? My 14 year old self loved it.

These were the days when The Used and My Chemical Romance ruled the ‘emo’ scene and posters were plastered all over my wall. One of my favourite albums of all time is the self-titled album by The Used. It is a darker album for them with songs describing lead singer, Bert McCracken’s, eating disorder and songs where he screamed so hard on stage whilst in concert, he made himself sick in front of the audience. I guess it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but who doesn’t love a band that spits in the air and tries to catch it again. Talent?

I have to admit that ‘The Taste Of Ink’ is still a favourite song of mine and runner up would have to be ‘Blue And Yellow.’ You can always find me listening to those songs.

Sang by the band themselves - “Won’t you think I’m pretty, when I’m standing top the bright lit city?”

You’re always pretty Bert…
