Ok, first things first: never google ‘Grouplove’. Unless you can be more specific you’re going to end up with some images in your computer’s cache that you probably don’t want your boss to see so come the next audit of my browsing history there might be some explaining to do. In 2010 Grouplove became more than just collective copulation however, when five earthy, organic, natural folks (fine, hippies) birthed the LA band into being. They’ve since crushed markets the world over with their debut record Never Trust A Happy Song and toured their asses off (they’ve hit Australia twice already with a third visit looking likely sometime soon). This week they took on Andrew W.K.’s anthemic ‘Party Hard’. It’s exactly what you’d expect from a band like this and a song like that, which is to say brilliant.
As promised last week, we’re back with another Under The Bridge Session! This time around indie popsters Grouplove performed an acoustic version of their hit ‘Tongue Tied’ for us.
The weather couldn’t have been any better as the sunshine and Sydney Harbour helped provide the perfect backdrop to one of the catchiest songs of 2011.
If you haven’t already discovered their amazing Never Trust a Happy Song album, you’d better catch up quick and pretend like you knew all along. Cop it online at places like iTunes or in stores now!
